You cannot buy tickets for the Evening Show while buying tickets for the Matinee.

Each month different programs and plays will be presented at the Kabukiza Theatre. Therefore information and prices will vary for Single Act Tickets. Details for each month's Single Act Tickets will be decided by the first performance date of the month and will be announced on the website. Information will also be available at the Single Act Box Office.

Please note that due to the new Single Act ticketing system and new facilities and services, the Single Act Box Office opening time and seating procedure may change in order to facilitate the process. Changes will be announced accordingly.

Overseas TV Broadcast

A new program called KABUKI KOOL, available overseas on NHK WORLD from April 16.

The program will be guided by kabuki actor Ichikawa Somegoro VII and television personality Haruka Christine. Interspersed with personal anecdotes, the wonders of this Japanese theatrical tradition are introduced to those who have never seen or heard about kabuki.

Visit Minamiza Theatre to learn about Kabuki

April 24, - April 29, 2014

Step into the Minamiza Theatre to learn about Kabuki. Minamiza KABUKI Museum returns this spring to display the splendors of kabuki right inside the theater! The unique traditions and characteristics related to a kabuki performance, from artwork to props and vehicles used for the staging, can be viewed up-close, touched, and experienced, also making the perfect opportunity to take souvenir photos during your visit.

10:15am - 18:00pm (last admisson at 17:30pm)

*exhibit closes a 15:30pm on April 29 (last admission at 15:00pm)

In addition, group tours are conducted during the exhibition period (Apr. 24- 29) to allow visitors to experience the unique stage mechanism of the kabuki theater. Tour is conducted in Japanese, English handouts are available.
